Wait for and expect the Lord and keep and heed His way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land; [in the end] when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.

V. THESIS:

GOD gives grace to the humble.

James 4:6 (Amplified Bible)

But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it).

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Wait for the LORD

"Wait for and expect the Lord"

How to wait for the LORD?

1. Trust on the LORD and while doing so, do good in the land.

Psalms 37:3 (Amplified Bible)

Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed.

2. Still and rest in your faith, do what faith says, not what you feel. For example, you are in need, sow seed for the LORD, mentioning your need and the LORD will meet it.

Psalms 37:7 (Amplified Bible)

Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

3. Wait in expectation and hoping for the LORD

Psalms 27:14 (Amplified Bible)

Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.

Proverbs 20:22 (Amplified Bible)

Do not say, I will repay evil; wait [expectantly] for the Lord, and He will rescue you.

B. Keep the LORD's Way

"and keep and heed His way,"

Proverbs 4:25-27 (Amplified Bible)

Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose], and let your gaze be straight before you.

Consider well the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established and ordered aright.

Turn not aside to the right hand or to the left; remove your foot from evil.

Proverbs 16:17 (Amplified Bible)

The highway of the upright turns aside from evil; he who guards his way preserves his life.

Matthew 24:13 (Amplified Bible)

But he who endures to the end will be saved.

The LORD's Way is different from the world. The world say if you want to be rich, you have to work at it. GOD's Way is different, take joy in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your hearts.

Psalms 37:4 (Amplified Bible)

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.

2 Corinthians 9:8 (Amplified Bible)

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

C. GOD will exalt you in the land

"and He will exalt you to inherit the land; [in the end] when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it."

Luke 14:11 (Amplified Bible)

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled (ranked below others who are honored or rewarded), and he who humbles himself (keeps a modest opinion of himself and behaves accordingly) will be exalted (elevated in rank).

The way to be exalted is to be humble in the LORD. For the LORD gives grace to the humble.

1 Peter 1:7 (Amplified Bible)

So that [the genuineness] of your faith may be tested, [your faith] which is infinitely more precious than the perishable gold which is tested and purified by fire. [This proving of your faith is intended] to redound to [your] praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) is revealed.

1 Peter 5:6 (Amplified Bible)

Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you,

IX. CONCLUSION:

Wait in the LORD, trusting Him while waiting and He will see to it that your requests are given you.
