Summary: A straight forward message with four points that begin with the letter H. They are major themes of the Bible.

The 4-H Club You Really Need to Join

There is a club that has been around since 1924. Their platform was made up of the following elements:

1. Head

2. Heart

3. Hands

4. Health

The group rallies young people to be active in each of these areas. For the most part, it has been a good program that has helped form a number of generations in regard to their social and community involvement.

As I review the many themes of the Bible, there are four that seem to stand out to challenge us today and prepare us for tomorrow. I call them the original 4-H Club of the Bible.

1. Heaven

2. Hell

3. Holy Ghost

4. Holiness

I. Heaven

This term is mentioned more than 550 times throughout the Bible.

Not to be confused with the heavens. The heavens typically refer to the clouds, the stars, the sun and the moon; also the solar system.

Heaven is also known as the New Jerusalem. It is the place God has and is creating for His own. It is where the saints of God will dwell for all eternity.

I want to know more about that glorious place. I definitely want to go there.

II. Hell

hell = 52 times

lake of fire, second death, place of torment, bottomless pit, perdition

The Bible refers to it in different terms and it is presented as a real place. It is a horrible place, originally prepared for the devil and his (fallen) angels.

So many today do not want to preach or talk about hell. They say that it is too negative, too harsh, too mean.

The Lord has spoken in many ways to warn us about hell. He does not want anyone to go to that terrible place.

III. Holy Ghost

Holy Ghost = 90 times

Holy Spirit = 10 times

Spirit = numerous times

He is the 3rd Person of the Trinity

He teaches, guides, counsels, convicts, encourages, empowers, and so much more.

Throughout the Old Testament, we see times that He made special visitations upon certain people.

In these last days He dwells in and fills lives.

Without a doubt, God wants His people to be full of the Holy Ghost.

IV. Holiness

This is the nature of God. All about Him is holy.

He desires that we seek to emulate His nature. The process is called sanctification.

It is internal and external.

1Pe 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
