Appropriate PROTECTION(:16b-24)

Explanation: (:16b-24)

:16—“So those that entered, male & female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; & the LORD shut him in.”

YaHWeH “shut” the door in the side(6:16) of the ark so that all were safely sealed inside. In fact, it states that YaHWeH shut Noah in. With Noah expressly taken care of everyone & everything was thereby properly taken care of.

?Are you certain that the LORD Himself has shut you in?

“Shut...in”—rgo saw-gar'—Qal Imperfect(expresses an action, process or condition which is incomplete)—1) To shut, close—1a) (Qal)—1a1) To shut, 1a2) To close, close up, 1a3) Closed up, closely joined, shut up. Strong—To shut up; figuratively, To surrender.

:17—“Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased & lifted up the ark, & it rose high above the earth.”

:18—“The waters prevailed & greatly increased on the earth, & the ark moved about on the surface of the waters.”

“The flood” is descriptive of the purpose &/or action of the waters & vice-versa.

The tremendous amount of water released from both sky & sea for a period of 40 days caused the earth to flood, & in turn lifted the ark. The ark not only floated but “it rose high above the earth.”

“The waters” of the flood rose(“increased”) dramatically so that it became “exceedingly” deep, causing the ark to “move/‘walk’ about” upon the collected waters.

The picture presented here is of the ark’s being so perfectly designed for this voyage that it so fit the sea, as a man is fit to walking. “The waters” were of no consequence to the ark. The waters were unrelenting in their prevalence—They did not recede.

“Flood” (See :7, 18, 19, 20, 24; & :6—“Floodwaters”)—lwbm mabbuwl’—1) Flood, deluge. Strong—from lby yaw-bal' in the sense of flowing; A deluge Used 13X.?

“Increased”(See :18)—hbr raw-baw'—1) Be or become great, be or become many, be or become much, be or become numerous. Strong—A primitive root; to increase (in whatever respect).

“Lifted up/Bare up”—asn naw-saw'—Qal Imperfect—1) To lift, bear up, carry, take—1a) (Qal)—1a1) To lift, lift up, 1a2) To bear, carry, support, sustain, endure, 1a3) To take, take away, carry off, forgive. Strong—a primitive root; To lift, in a great variety of applications, literal & figurative, absolute and relative.
