But what does a heart for the lost look like? In several episodes from His life, Jesus gives us cues as to what God’s heart for lost people looks like in clear and applicable terms.
If we share God’s heart for lost people, we will …
1) … spend time hangin’ out.
“Matthew invited Jesus …, along with his fellow tax collectors and many other notorious sinners.” (Matthew 9:10)
2) … meet them at their point of need.
“…you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” (John 4:10)
3) … drop the rocks.
“[Jesus] stood and said, ‘All right, stone her. But let those who have never sinned throw the first stone!’” (John 8:8)
4) … extend a healing touch.
“Jesus touched him.” (Matthew 8:3)
