GOD'S PHONE NUMBER Jeremiah 33:1-9 (text v. 3) I. The PERSON we entreat --"Call unto me…" (cf. v. 2). A. The One who has FORMED us. B. The One who has FOUND us. C. The One who has FORGIVEN us. D. The One who has FIXED us. II. The PRECAUTION we employ We: - 1. Call Correctly, Praise - Psalm 9:1-2, I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. 2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. In Name of Christ - John 14:13-14 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. 2.Call Cleanly Ps.66:18, If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: Psalm 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

3. Call Clearly (Ask for Specifics - Matthew 7:7-11 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

4. Call Confidently (1 John 5:14-15) And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

5. Call Continually (Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:) (means to keep on asking, seeking, knocking.)

III. The PROMISE we embrace --"…I will answer thee…" A. The wisdom of God perceives what is best for us. B.The love of God promises what is best for us. C. The power of God performs what is best for us. IV. The PROVISION we enjoy --"…and shew thee great and mighty things…" ch. 32:16 ¶ Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying, 17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: 18 Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name, A. His Great counsel. Ro 11:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

B. His Mighty works. Ps 28:5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up. Ps 46:8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. Ps 77:11 I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. Ps 111:2 The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. Ps 118:17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. V. The PLENTY we experience "…which thou knowest not." -- Expect the unexpected! God always exceeds our request!
