Summary: Foot Washing

I thought it fitting that we challenge not just the student ministry but all here to rise up and get in our places. We shouldn't assume that this church has enough servants to lead in this community. Pastor shared Sunday that we are needed to serve so we can reach all who are thirsty and hungry for more of God. To love unconditionally. To show compassion on the brokenhearted. To help restore those that feel there is no hope. To LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

Jesus said in John 13:12….”So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them….Do you know what I have done to you?” He went on and said in verse 14 that we should wash another’s feet.

We are not above washing feet. If you think you are; then you are going to miss God’s Blessing over your life when we don’t love in this manner. This is a great example of how we love one another and genuinely show how concerned we are about each other. The church should be concerned about ALL and we should reach farther than we ever have or do something that we never done because we desire for something that has never happened. If your stuck in your own spiritual funk; then you need to change your stinking thinking. Keep doing the same thing and you get the same results….do something different and you will get different results. God want's us to change daily and not be stagnant or stale.

Jesus shared this special love by humbling himself toward the disciples and cleansing their feet. The symbolic nature was to show how the water is the Word of God that cleans our lives up.

Water or the Word of God exposes the dirt, it cleanses, and then it refreshes.

Ephesians 5:26 say’s “that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word”

We need the water or the Word to expose, cleanse, and refresh our lives everyday. The water hear that God is talking about is clean and that is what we should desire for our lives. Who wants dirty water or a word of knowledge that is not Godly?

We know what the water represents but how about the feet?

Luke 1:79 – To give to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our FEET into the way of peace.

Romans 10:15 – How beautiful are the FEET of those who preach the gospel

Our feet are to carry God's Word to the world. Where is your feet leading you? Do your feet honor God and leading others into God's Kingdom work? Are your feet in need of cleaning so God can use you to accomplish what He desires for you?

As I wash my brother’s feet….The altar is open for anyone that needs to rededicate their life to the Lord and ask God to show you what you need to be doing here to serve Him to enhance God’s Kingdom. Also; this is a place right now that you can pray for the Lord to help you focus on those that are need of you to wash their feet with God’s Word. To help them find their life and destiny in God. To help them find a relationship with Him. To help them find healing, restoration, freedom, and most of all peace.
