Title: Great Reasons To Be Steadfast in God’s Work

Text: 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Be ye steadfast--not turning aside. Be firm, strong, confident in the faith,. Be not shaken or agitated with the strifes, the temptations, and the cares of life. Be fixed in the faith, and let not the power of sin and Satan shaken your faith and service in the Lord

The greatest experience we have in this life, is the free salvation in Christ. It made us totally a new

Creature in Christ. It changed our destiny, disposition, dreams and desires. We have now this God-given inward desire to serve God.

II. Great Sacrifices of Christ – He died for us 15 v3

Think of all the sufferings and sacrifices of Christ our Lord. Isaiah 53:5 , Through His death we receive Eternal Life, through His poverty we received riches 2 Corinth. 8:9. Oh marvelous grace and Love sublime. Hear Him say “ I did it all for thee “. Christ’s great Love and Amazing grace are more than enough to lead us to devotion and stedfastness in our worship and service.

III. Great Grace given - 15 v10 He bestowed upon me – the grace is not in vain

The Lord did not only saved us but also bestowed upon us sustaining and enabling grace whereby we can serve and glorify Him. He made us stewards of His manifold grace 1 Peter 4:10 ; 1 Tim. 1:12

IV. Great and Glorious Future – He prepared for me a glorious Future : 15 v42, 51-53 resurrection, honor, immortality 1 Cor. 2:9

God has not only given us Salvation and enabling grace but He prepared for us a glorious future in Heaven. His great plans for our future should move us to be thankful and stedfast in the Lord’s Work.

V. Great Victory –v57

This life is a constant battle. Our adversaries Satan, sin and , sufferings , and death are constantly battering and buffeting us, but in all these things in Christ we are more than conquerors. Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Christ has conquered all of them for us. In Christ, we have a victorious life, let us therefore be stedfast in the Lord’s service to manifest the victory we have in Christ.

VI. Great Promise – Our service is not in vain but will be rewarded v58

The Lord clearly promised that those who serve Him will receive manifold blessings in this life and rewards in the life to come. Indeed our labour in the Lord is not wasted and not in vain, they are recorded and taken noticed of the Lord and will surely be rewarded.

Mark 10:29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, Mark 10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Revelation 2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last [to be] more than the first.
