Summary: What do you do when your world gets turned upside down?

HALLELUJAH ANYHOW

JOB 1:21

This word is often used to express the joy that we are felling or some kind of happiness that we want to express. When you think of this word, good visions pop in your mind. You think about how things are going so well for at that specific time. You think about how God has been good to you or someone else . When you think of this word, when this word is spoken thought of blessings and prosperity goes through your mind.

But what about when the hellhounds are on your tail? What about when sickness invades your life. Repression, utilities, jailhouse, graveyard..

What goes through your mind then?

Job says no matter what your going through, you should be able to say Hallelujah Anyhow!

7sons, 3daughters- 7000 sheep, 3000camel, 500 yoke of oxen, 500 she asses, and a very great household.

Job sanctified his children & rose up early to offer burnt offerings to the Lord in cause his children have sinned or cursed God in there heart. Thus did Job continually!

Vs6 says- There was a day when the sons of God presented themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them!….

Does Job fear you for nothing? You made an hedge around him, his house, and everything that he has! You have blessed the works of his hands, and now he is loaded with substance!

But stretch forth your hand now and touch everything that he has! If you do that he will curse you to your face! And the Lord told Satan everything that he has is in your power, but don’t touch him!

Vs 13 says- There was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking at the eldest brother house, and there came a messenger to unto Job and said,

The oxen were plowing & the asses were feeding, the Sabeans took them and killed the servants & I was the only 1 to escape to tell you

The fire of God fell from heaven burnt up the sheep and servants & I’m the only 1 that escaped to tell you,

The Chaldeans formed bands & raided the camel, slew your servants & I’m the only one that escaped,

Thy sons & daughter were eating and drinking wine at the eldest brother house and a great wind came from the wilderness and smote the 4 corners of the house and it fell upon the young men and they are dead, and I alone escaped to tell thee!

After hearing this Job arose, rent his mantle, shaved his head, fell to the ground, and said. Naked came I out of my mothers wound, and naked shall I return thither: The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord!!!

What would you have done? What would you have said? What kind of response would you have given?

But Job said….

How could he do this? Why was he able to praise in spite of his hardships?

How was Job about to say in so many words Hallelujah Anyhow?

1. Job Looked Back= (Naked came I out of my mother's womb) Job remembered where he came from. He reminded himself that when he got here he didn’t have a thing. My bro and sis that would help a lot of us along this journey if we remember, where we are right now we haven’t always been. What we have right now we haven’t always had!

So often we get beside ourselves forgetting where we once was.

And listen God didn’t bring us from a mighty long way for us to sneer our nose and act dignified he brought us this far for us to praise his name.

HE brought from horseback, to Cadillac

Pig tail, Lobster tail

Out house to the white house! We should praise His name.

And same goes for born again folks… We haven’t always been saved!

Job looked back and remember when he got here he had nothing!

2. Job Looked Forward= (Naked shall I return thither)- Job knew not only when I got here I didn’t have a thing when I leave here I can’t take a thing with me! That’s why we can’t get caught in possessions or people because either we going to leave them or they going to leave us! The bible tell us “Lay not your treasures…”

We must remember God didn’t leave us hear to see how much stuff we can get!! WE must understand this life is not the end!

3. Job Looked Up= (The Lord Gave..) To me in so many words Job was saying that old saying that goes “What I am, He made me. What I got, He gave me, Where I come from He brought me, What I know, He taught me!
