What is Quiet Time?

Quiet time not only refers to a time alone with God, but also to the quality of

time we spend with God.

Why do Quiet Time?

You become like the people you hand out with.

Hanging out with God…

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. – Philippians 2:12-13

1. Your relationship with God is meant TO GROW

2. Spiritual growth is a life-long JOURNEY

3. Developing spiritual habits will help you grow ON YOUR OWN

When you spend time with God…

1. He changes your HEART

9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10 Create

in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. – Psalm 51:9-10

2. He gives you DIRECTION for living

104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false

way. 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. – Psalm 119:104-105

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in

my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,

whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 14:26

3. He’s there during your PROBLEMS

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort

them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

2 Corinthians 1:4

Hanging out with God…

1. Make time with God a PRIORITY

2. Take the time REGULARLY

3. Hang out with comfort rather than GUILT
