Summary: You can be sure that Jesus cares for you. No matter where you find yourself in life, He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7 - Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

There is not much care left in this world today. I mean real, true, genuine care. There is not much compassion left in this country.

There was a tune that was sung in years gone by that was very well liked. Perhaps you will recognize some of the words as I recite them. The song went like this, “What the world needs now is love sweet love, that’s the only thing that there’s just too little of”. It was a very popular melody, and its words rang true. It made people feel good, but I don’t think that they took it’s message to heart.

What the world needs is love. What the world needs is compassion. Watching out for one another and helping wherever there is a need.

What the world needs is a sense of community. A venturing out of our cocoon to affect our neighborhoods and our society.

We have surrounded ourselves with so many creature comforts that we rarely bother to come out of our castles except to go to work or to the store. We are oblivious to the cries of those who are in desperate need.

We have busied ourselves with so many things that we don’t have time to lend a helping hand when it is needed much less recognize the need that is present.

Care and compassion is an essential value needed in many circumstances. It can be administered in many ways and in many situations.

∑ alongside a hospital bed of a loved one or a friend

∑ alongside the bed of a child as you say prayers with them at night

∑ it comes with a warm meal

∑ it comes with an outstretched hand

∑ its expressed with a hug

∑ or its expressed with a phone call

To often we race through life oblivious to the pain and emptiness in the lives of others that we care about, and we do nothing to help.

Be that as it may, I want to introduce you to a God that cares for you. He is a God that is concerned about everything in your life.

Romans 5:6 - For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

7 - For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

I want to tell you about a God that cares for you today. He cares so much for you that:

∑ while you were without strength

∑ while you were still a sinner

∑ while you were still unrighteous

∑ while you were still a long way off from Jesus

∑ while you were living your own life

Jesus Christ died for us!!!!!

I am so thankful that God doesn’t wait until we clean ourselves up before he loves us. But he loves us just as we are. He commended his love toward us while we were yet sinners. Jesus cares for you.

Psalm 115:12 - The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

The Lord cares for you. He has been mindful of you. He has your best interest in mind. Even when we are not thinking about him, and even when our minds are not on him - He has been mindful of us and he loves us. Jesus cares for you.

Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

I am so thankful that God is my refuge and strength. He is a very present help - a very present help - a very present help in the time of trouble. Jesus cares for you.

Psalm 71:1 - In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

2 - Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.

3 - Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

I am so thankful that God is my habitation, and I can dwell there continually. He is my rock and my fortress. Jesus cares for you.

Hebrews 13:5 - … for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

6 - So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper…

He cares for you and he will never leave you or forsake you. Sometimes we might leave God or not live for him like we ought to. But God will never leave you. That’s why you can say today “The lord is my helper”. Jesus cares for you.
