He Will Destroy The Veil That Veils All Peoples

"On this mountain the LORD of hosts will provide for all peoples. A feast of rich food and choice wines, juicy, rich food and pure, choice wines. 7 On this mountain he will destroy the veil that veils all peoples, The web that is woven over all nations; 8 he will destroy death forever. The Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from all faces; The reproach of his people he will remove from the whole earth; for the LORD has spoken." Isaiah 25:6-9

"He will destroy the veil that veils all peoples, the web that is woven over all nations!" (vs7)

It seems that in the day and age we live in, that many people are still caught in the invisible web of the devil. Many of us are covered by a thick veil or mist and the bright, beautiful face of Jesus Christ is hidden from us or is extremely dim. Many of us are trapped in a maze of keeping rules and regulations that we think is Christianity. We have reduced the gospel to an ethical system. We know intellectually the story of Jesus, we have taken Christianity 101 in CCD or religious ed. and we come to Church on Sunday to "keep the rules."

Jesus has destroyed this veil, this maze! - HE CAME TO EARTH!

Who among us that is married, would accept a marriage to a person on the other side of the world, to a person I would never see, touch, hear, smell or be intimate with in any way. All I would know of this person would be what I read about him or her. Ridiculous, right? Marriage is a union in spirit, soul and body. We grow to know our spouse more intimately day by day!

Christianity is intimacy with Jesus!

Intimacy that deepens day by day! Pope John Paul II says, "The profound conversion Christianity proposes is a real experience of God" The bible says we are "to experience the breadth and length and height and depth of Jesus’ love, which surpasses all knowledge." (Ephesians 3:18) and "All of us, gazing on the Lord’s glory with UNVEILED FACES, are being transformed from glory to glory into His very image by the Lord" (2Corinthians 3:18)

How do we have intimacy with Jesus?

By Faith! "Hence, all depends on faith, everything is grace." (Romans 4:16) and "Without faith it is impossible to please God." (Hebrews 1:6) There are various kinds of faith. A faith that is strictly an intellectual belief alone (Christianity 101) won’t cut it! "The demons believe that and shudder" (James 2:19) The bible is talking about a faith that burns all its bridges behind it, that puts all its hope and trust in God’s word and bets the farm on it. A faith that expects God to do for you personally what He says He will. An expectant, believing, very personal faith! A faith that says: Jesus, I want to experience your love for me in a very personal and deeply intimate way. I will settle for nothing less than what your Holy word promises. A faith the keeps pressing forward for more of Jesus’ life in you. A faith that will settle for nothing less than Life on High in Christ Jesus!
