Summary: The healing and Deliverance of a leprous man.

  Study Tools

As many of today already know, we need to be healed and delivered. We’re all going through something at the moment and I find that many of us are not going to the right sources to heal us of our problem. Many of us today are looking to drugs and alcohol to solve our problems, but we know that isn’t the right answer to our problem. In the story we find that there was a man with leprosy and we see that that man had abundant faith in the Lord. And as I reflect on this man we find that there were two things that the man did that in which honored God. We find that he trusted and obeyed God.

Trust: In the bible it states that the meaning for trust is to rely on someone or something to happen. Now in order to trust God we have to know that God can heal our situations or problems. In trusting God we find that the man with leprosy stretched out his hand to God and said “Lord, if you are willing you can make me clean” and God replied “ I am willing ” If we can lets think back on the wise and foolish builders, the wise builder built his house upon rock like God had told him, but the foolish builder built his house upon sand. We must learn to be obedient and listen to God, trust in what he tells us to do.

Obey: Through obeying God we find that we go a lot farther in life. We receive abundant and non stop flowing blessings. Think about when you had all that money that God had blessed you with and you didn’t know what to do with it, but God came upon you and told you to put it away for later, yeah I’m sure you doubted God and was thinking that you was gonna spend that money, but God told you to put it away. We have to trust God because he knows what we’re going to run up against in the future. Just like when he told the man with leprosy to show himself to the priest like David had commanded, he did just that.

Maybe some of the older folk know the little hymn that says to trust and obey. It goes a little like this, Then in fellowship sweet, we’ll sit at his feet or we’ll walk by his side in the way, what he says we’ll do and where he sends we’ll go-never fear only trust and obey. And the chorus simply says... trust and obeys for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. Then there’s another song in the hymn that says, ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take him at his word-just to rest upon his promise, just to know thus says the Lord. And it says, Jesus Jesus how I trust in Jesus just to prove him more and more- back to tis so sweet.

In closing I would like to leave with you that God knows what you’re going through and what you’re gonna go through and that we need to learn to trust and obey God and know that he’ll heal and deliver us from what ever our situation may be.
