Summary: A look at why it's ok that we are merely "jars of clay."

A Picture Of Us And God: We are the plain pot; Christ is the magnificent flower.

- 2 Corinthians 4:7.

Living This Truth Out:

1. It’s ok to admit your shortcomings.

- 2 Corinthians 4:7 – “jars of clay.”

2. Accept that you’re the plain pot and Christ is the magnificent flower.

- 2 Corinthians 4:7 – “treasure in jars of clay.”

a. What this means for those with little self-confidence: it’s ok that you’re a plain pot because it’s about how great God is, not how great you are.

b. What this means for those with great self-confidence: you’re a plain pot – God is great, not you.

3. The juxtaposition of your shortcomings and what God can do through you shines more glory on God.

- 2 Corinthians 4:7 – “this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”

4. This is not incidental or accidental – God designed it this way.

- 2 Corinthians 4:7 – “to show that.”

A Prayer: “God, do something so great through me that everyone will know it wasn’t me on my own.”
