Summary: How do you see him what are you looking for from him.

HOW DO YOU SEE GOD?

Colossians 1:10 - That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

John 15:8 - Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Psalms 139:23 - Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Most people see God as spare tire we get him out when we need him.

Others see him as far away from us.

How we should see him.

(1) We need to see him as our redeemer.

Job 19: 25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

Isaiah 47: 4 As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

(2) He is our leader.

Exodus 13: 21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

Psalms 25: 4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

(3) He is the Saviour at the sea.

Exodus 14: 13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

(4) Healer Marah.

Exodus 15: 26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

(5) Provider for us.

Exodus 16: 15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.

1st Kings 17: 6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

(6) As a defender.

Ephesians 6: 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

2nd Timothy 2: 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

(7) I see him as the ruler.

Exodus 40: 16 Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.
