Summary: Message addresses people who dread mother's day because they were abused or had bad mothers.

Today is Mother's Day. The Day we celebrate good mothers. The mothers who loved and cared for their children. But what about our brothers and sisters who did not have good mothers? What about our brothers and sisters who hate to see this day coming because it brings up bad memories of a horrible mother who abused them? Today we acknowledge you and celebrate you because we know it hasn't been an easy journey for you. The very person who was supposed to love you and nourish you abused you. Some of you were neglected by your moms. She did not provide a loving home for you but you lived in a state of chaos and turmoil as she may have loved a drunken and abusive husband or boyfriend more than you. She may have been a drug addict who neglected you. We thank you for being here today and we want to remind you that God said in Isaiah 49:15, "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee."

Yes, God said, although a mother may forget or not know how to have compassion for her child, He wouldn't forget or fail to show compassion to you, his beloved child. David said when my mother and father forsakes me, then the Lord shall receive me. (Psalms 27:10). In Isaiah 46:4 God said, And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. Yes, child of God, He has been with you all the time! He will carry you through to the end. Just as He was with Christ in his darkest hour as He suffered at the hands of his enemies, God was with you in your darkest hour and He will vindicate you if you let Him. He is ready to restore what Satan has stolen from you.

There is one thing you must remember, your mother was not the enemy, scripture says, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).

It was Satan's desire to harm you, not your mother's desire or God's desire, but Satan's. When parents are unsaved they are influenced by Satan's unholy spirit instead of God's holy spirit. Remember he's a thief. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He stole your childhood but you can redeem the time by forgiving your mother today. She was Satan's victim too, taken captive to do his will.

Paul said we must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account for the things we've done in this body, whether good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10). Your mother will stand before Christ to be judged for what she did to you. Think about it. What do you think should happen to her knowing she was also a victim of that lying, thieving, killer?

Perhaps, you will understand if Christ says to your mother, "What you did to your children was wrong. They suffered unnecessarily by your own hands. They spent nights and days crying from a broken heart, filled with fear and shame they spent many years trying to overcome the evil you did to them while living as Satan's servant. However, they decided to let me be Lord in their life so the weapon of child abuse did not prosper against them. They prayed for you and I have forgiven you. Now enter into my kingdom and enjoy life with your children. Yes, child of God, what a day of rejoicing that will be when the King of Kings and Lord of Lord's will right every wrong and with righteous judgment wipe every tear away. At that time families will be restored and live together in unity.

This is not the end! There's a new day coming! John said in, Revelation 21:1-4 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
