How To Learn From Mistakes and Failures

Ps. 145:14; Prov. 24:16

(Part 1)

I. Failures and mistakes can be the latter to success.

(If you’re not making mistakes, then most likely you’re not trying to do anything). You only make a mistake if you’re doing something, not by doing nothing.

II. To many are held hostage by their past. Because they are unable to get past and let go of past hurts.

A. Four signs of people stuck in their past.

1. Excusing their failures.

2. Isolation from others.

3. Regrets

4. Bitterness (Heb.12:15; Psalms 119:9-11)

III. People think failure is their objective.

A. Smart people learn from mistakes.

B. A little progress is better than none at all.

C. Most success comes from taking small steps.

IV. We learn from our mistakes and others mistakes also.

A. We must guard our hearts and minds

1. Think on these thinks (Phil. 4:8)

V. Many think failure is irreversible.

A. Failure is not permanent.

1. We must examine our mistakes.

2. It=s better to fall on your face, rather than your back. Because when you fall on your face, you are still moving forward.

VI. Many think failure is a stigma (stain).

A. Failure is just another step in the road of success.

B. Circumstances in your life can be used to reveal who you are.

C. Opportunity of a failure is to learn who I really am, if I turn my mistake into a learning experience.

VII. Many people think failure is final.

A. The only way failure is final is when we quit trying.

Closing:

Experience is not what happens to you, but how you react to it. Peter failed, but he got up and kept moving on. (1 Peter 1:6)
