Summary: God has prescribed the right way to live and expects us to follow through. Read this sermon for more information on living a blessed life.

“You, God, prescribed the right way to live; now you expect us to live it. Oh, that my steps might be steady, keeping to the course you set.” (Psalm 119: 4-5 The Message)

Good Morning, soldiers in the fight of faith! Today is the day for yet another choice – how shall you live? We thank God for his word and course direction provided for the journey.

The Psalmist reminds us of God’s expectation for us each day, that we might live the way he prescribed. It is our responsibility to continue a pathway toward greatness in our everyday journey. Sure, there are things we may not know early in our journey, but as we grow in wisdom, age and maturity – when we know better, we are expected to do better. Our lives should follow the prescribed way God planned for us.

You, like myself and a host of others, make mistakes along the way. Yet that should never prevent you from progressing in life. In the Bible, there are numerous examples of persons of faith who made mistakes. The key to life is not in making the mistakes, instead it is rectifying such through the process of confession and repentance before God and others. This way, you can keep steady on the course God set for you.

When I pondered the question this morning of how we should live, the following was placed in my spirit:

1. Constant Communion – Each day, we must begin with prayer and take breaks in our day just to seek the face of Almighty God. Make sure that you stay connected to God and his will concerning you. Pray, Read the scriptures, Meditate… Spend time just basking in the presence of Almighty God.

2. Confession and Repentance – We all make mistakes. Instead of focusing on what you did wrong, use this as an avenue to draw closer to God and to become a better person. Tell God your issue, and repent that you will not repeat the same action again.

3. Exhibit the fruits of the spirit – Let others encounter a special joy and peace just by being in your presence. Each day, jump start your morning with praise and thanksgiving, as you seek God for his direction. Instead of sharing your situations and obstacles which others may or may not understand, demonstrate the joy of the Lord regardless of what you may endure. Keep a smile on your face and an encouraging word on your heart each day.

Today, God has a high expectation for you – live this day to its fullest, fulfilling his will as prescribed through his word. I am praying for you today as you keep your steps steady on the path.
