(What did the smartest man who ever lived have to say about it)

Lesson 5. Proverbs 2:10-22. How to W.R.E.C.K. your marriage.

Can a married man or woman have opposite sex friends?

How do you know if you’ve crossed the line between friendship and something more?

There are three signs that indicate that you may have crossed the line into infidelity: S.E.X.

S.exual tension. You instinctively know when it is present. Huge red flag. Don’t rationalize it away

E.motional intimacy. Do you find yourself sharing more of your feelings and thoughts with your opposite sex friend than with your spouse?

X. out of emails. Secrecy. Do you close your email or text window when your spouse walks by? Do you meet with them privately? Do you leave out details of your day because they include encounters with your friend? The minute you fudge anything about your relationship with your opposite sex friend, you’ve stepped over the line.

If you see any of these signs, it’s time to re-evaluate your friendship with that other person. You need be broaden your boundaries in order to avoid any temptation in the future.

Some rules to live by: NO-NO-NO-NO

No conversations, of any kind, that you would not fully share with your spouse.

No touching. Watch how you hug.

No daydreaming about the other person. “Let the words of my mouth, and the medication of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14.

No pornography. “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Matthew 5:27, 28.

E.ntire family is damaged. “…the sword shall never depart from thine house…” 12:10

C.ause of Christ suffers. “…thou hast given great occasion for the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme.” 12:14.

K.ids follow in the parents footsteps. “…and he shall lie with thy wives…” 12:11.
