I Am Somebody

Summary: People everywhere want to know where and how to fit in, the enemy will want you to believe that you do not belong or fit anywhere. Is this outline we can identify who we are, and know our place in the Family of God.
I am Somebody
1. I am set free
**John 8:32 says…
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
**II Corinthians 3:17 says….
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
~Adam Clarks Commentary says…
No man is truly free: but he in whose heart the power of sin is destroyed, and who hath received the Spirit of adoption.
**Romans 6:16-17 says…
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you
**John 8:34 says….
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
~William Allen White was quoted as saying
“Liberty is the only thing you can not have unless you are willing to give it to others”
~Friends that should speak volumes to us as believers on our duty to testify of the Lord, and be a faithful witness of Him
2. I am Victorious
3. I am one of the Elect
**Romans 8:33, Colossians 1:12
4. I am the Head and not the Tail
5. I am a new Creature
**II Corinthians 5:17 says…
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
“Therefore if any man be”….
Be is a Greek word, meaning to be in a fixed position
**Psalms 41:2 says…
The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
“In Christ, he is a new creature”
~A caterpillar starts out on his belly crawling all over, waiting for the day in which he can finally sore with the wind under his wings. Changed to a butterfly, never to crawl again, but a new creature, which what our attitude should be as believers, changed!
“Old things”
Old is a Greek word meaning original things
“Passed away”
This is a death reference meaning it is not coming back, gone for ever.
6. I am Blessed
7. I am a Saint of God
**Romans 1:7, I Corinthians 1:1-2, Philippians 1:1
8. I am the Temple of the Holy Spirit of God.
9. I am a partaker of His divine nature
** II Peter 1:4
10. I am Chosen
11. I am healed by His Stripes
12. I am Forgiving
**Ephesians1:7 says…
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
~Redemption is what Christ accomplished for our offences.
~Forgiveness is the application of Christ’s accomplishment for our offences.
**I John 1:9 says…
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
~I love this verse, one of my favorites, if we do one thing, He does four things for us.
1. Faithful
2. Just
3. Forgiving
4. Cleansing
