In Christ, We have….

Intro: In Christ we have many promises.

Recently while reading the Scripture, I came across this phrase…WE HAVE…

-God has given us many promises.

-They are ours and God does not play “take back”.

-The phrase “WE HAVE” is used in the KJV 229 times.

-I would like to just look at a few of the things that WE HAVE in Christ.

A. In our sin we were at war with God.

B. We were in a state of rebellion against God.

Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were

reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more,

being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

C. Now by the blood of Christ we have peace with God.

D. Notice our peace with God is through Jesus Christ.

E. He is the peacemaker.

A. The grace of God is found by faith.

-Eph. 2:8-9

B. By God’s grace we have access into faith.

with confidence by the faith of him.

III. We have the atonement. Romans 5:11

A. The atonement. – the forgiveness of sin by transmission.

B. We are under Adam’s sin. Vs. 12

of life. Vs 18 (skip the parentheses)

D. Our sin was placed upon Jesus at the Cross-.

-2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

E. In Christ our sins have been “paid for”. Vs 5:8

F. When you receive Christ, you receive the atonement.

A. We have an anchor that is sure.

1. it will not fail

2. you don’t have to keep checking the line.

B. We have an anchor that is steadfast.

1. An anchor that is firm.

2. An anchor that is sure

C. This anchor gives us stability.

1. We are not tossed about and driven by the winds of life.

2. Christ gives us stability

D. This anchor gives us security.

1. We are anchored to the solid rock.

2. We cannot drift away.

3. It is not dependent of us holding on to it, but on

Him holding on to us.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness

Conclusion.

In Christ we have…

Peace with God

Access into His grace.

The Atonement

An anchor for our soul.
