In The Potter's Hands Series

Summary: Isaiah 64: 8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
Jeremiah 18:1-6 The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
2 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
5 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? Saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
The Process:
1.TAKEN
Taken from the ground.
Clay is dugout.
God created man from dust.
2. MADE
The making involves God’s hands and the wheel.
Before the making starts the potter has the blueprint of the final vessel in his mind.
3. MARRED
Spoiled or damaged in the potter's hands.
The wheel spins the clay to give it shape.
The potter has the idea but the shaping is done by the wheel.
The wheel of life sometimes spins fast and the clay takes shapes.
The shaping involves pinching, punching pressing, pulling.
4.REMAKING
The potter does not discard the marred clay. He remakes it into another vessel that seems good to Him.
Not repair but a new creation.
In love and mercy, He puts his plan to action to restore the marred vessel into a vessel of honor.
Our ruin was complete but our redemption is more complete.
we were utterly marred; we are made completely new in Christ.
We were utterly lost; we are saved through Him to the uttermost. Salvation is not a patching up of the old man-it is a new creation.
Old things have passed away; behold all things have become new,( 2Corinthians 5:17)
IN THE POTTER’S HANDS WE ARE:
1. Taken
2. Made
3. Marred
4. Re-Made
5. Filled
6. Used
. OUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE GREAT POTTER.
Yield to Him! Each particle in the clay seems to say "Yes" to wheel and hand. And in proportion, as this is the case, the work goes merrily on. If there be rebellion and resistance, the work of the potter is marred. Let God have His way with you. We cannot always understand His dealings, because we do not know what is His purpose.
"Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker-- An earthenware vessel among the vessels of earth! Will the clay say to the potter, 'What are you doing?' Or the thing you are making say, 'He has no hands'?
