Summary: When was the last time you took at good look at yourself?

IS JESUS SATISFIED WITH ME?

Everybody wants to please somebody. The selfish man wants to please himself; the worker wants to please his boss; lovers want to please each other; and the Christian, the Child of God ought to want to please God.

The truly selfish man who lives to please only himself WILL DIE ALONE. The worker who lives to please his boss will one day be without a JOB. Lovers no matter how much they are in love will one day separate because of death.

But for the Christian he is the only human that has an inseparable union. Once we are adopted; once we become part of God’s family, WE WILL BE WITH HIM FOREVER!

The Question Then Is: Is Jesus satisfied With YOU?

When Was The Last Time You Checked?

At Least Once A Month All Of Us Ought To Check

But let a man examine himself, and so let him

eat of that bread, and drink of that cup (1Cor. 11:280

One can come to His table unworthily in many ways. It is common for people to participate in it ritualistically, without participating with their minds and hearts.

They go through the motions without going through any emotions, and treat it lightly rather than seriously. When we think about CALVARY it ought to make us GLAD and SAD at the same time . . . . smile and cry.

When we realize that we are heaven bound and not hell bound that is something to SHOUT ABOUT. OH OH! But when we picture Him dying for me/ us . . . . to see the pain and agony that He endured for us. His pain and agony ought to sadden us.

It is sad when we believe more in the ceremony than we do in the sacrifice. That somehow The Lord’s Supper has some kind of efficacy . . . that somehow partaking imparts grace or merit and therefore can save or keep one saved.

Many come with the spirit of bitterness or hatred toward another believer, or come with a sin which they will not repent. But they have not read (Matt. 5:24); which tells us to leave our gift at the altar and go and get right with our brother..

Anytime you come with less than the loftiest thoughts of The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and your brothers and sisters YOU ARE COMING UNWORTHILY!!!

To come unworthily to The Lord’s Table does not simply dishonor the ceremony; it DISHONORS the One in whose honor it is celebrated. WE MOCK CHRIST WHEN WE COME UNWORTHILY!!

Every time a person comes to the Lord’s table, he should EXAMINE HIMSELF. Before we partake we are to examine ourselves thoroughly, looking honestly at our hearts for anything that should not be there and sifting out evil.

God’s Word is a lamp and a light. Prayer is the vacuum. The Word shows us what and where and prayer removes it. Just like at home there are some places that you must vacuum more or harder than others. There are some things that require more prayer.

PRAYER WILL FIX IT EVERY TIME !!!

We then should ask ourselves: Is Jesus Satisfied With Me?

Is He Satisfied With My Worship? Church attendance is not worship. Choir membership is not worship. Preaching is not worship. Let us look at five aspects of WORSHIP:

1) Worshiping the Lord God, should be a happy, joyous experience. Worship should be joyful because it is directed solely toward Him. Just knowing that the Lord has done great things for us should make us grateful and glad.

“He took my feet out of the miry clay . . . .” Psalms 40

Hymnologist: From sinking sands He lifted me

2) Worshiping God unifies His people. Hostility and alienation are rampant in our society. The psalmist in Psalms 100 invited all lands to share in the worship of God

Because only one God exists, He must be the God of all races, nationalities, and societies. As we worship Him, we discover anew that all people are precious to Him.

As our children sing black, yellow, brown or white, we are all precious in His sight. Our God is a WHOSOEVER WILL GOD

3) Worshiping God involves recognizing and submitting to His sovereign authority. The Lord made us all. We are to serve Him actively as the sovereign Lord. The church of God is not a democracy, but it is a THEOCRACY

Whatever He wants me to do I’ll do that is my desire. God said it, I believe it, and that settles it. We must try continually to do what God wants

4) Worshiping God includes singing “making a joyful noise” Music is the communication of the soul. It comprises a large part of our worship services.
