!. My doctrine must be right for my decision to be right
A. John 1:12-13 & John 6:43-44 - The new birth can only be accomplished by God
B. John 3:5-7 - The new birth can only be achieved by the Word and the Spirit
2. Biblical examination leads to confidence not confusion
A. Will confirm the witness of the Word with the witness of the Spirit - Romans 8:16
B. Will shift your attention from the promise to the Person of salvation - II Timothy 1:12
C. Will see present evidence that confirms past experience - II Corinthians 5:17
