Is The God You Worship A Happy God?

Summary: Rejoice in God (as He does in you)
Is the God you worship a happy God?
“Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding
joy; and I will praise you…”
“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that
your joy may be complete.”
God rejoices in His creation
“God saw all that he had made, and it was very
good…” (Gen 1:31)
“There the ships go to and fro, and the leviathan (Whale),
which you formed to frolic there.”
Creation rejoices in God
“Who laid (the Earth’s) cornerstone while the morning stars
sang together…?” (Job 38:7)
“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the
mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all
the trees of the field will clap their hands.”
God rejoices in His people
“His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his
delight in the legs of a man; the Lord delights in those who
fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love. (Ps
147:10-11)
“…“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well
pleased.” (Mt 3:17)
“to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made
us accepted in the Beloved.” (Eph 1:6)
God’s people rejoice in Him
““Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong
man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his
riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he
understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who
exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for
in these I delight,” declares the Lord.”
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)

is the quickening of conscience by His holiness; the
nourishment of mind with His truth; the purifying of
imagination by His beauty’ the opening of the heart to His
love; the surrender of will to His purpose – and all of this
gathered up in adoration…”

Rejoice in God’s Holiness
“Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was
covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day
and night they never stop saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the
Lord God Almighty, …” (Revelation 4:8)
Rejoice in God’s Truth
“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he
meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:2)

Rejoice in God’s love
“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants
for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.

Rejoice in God’s Will
“I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my
heart.” (Psalm 40:8)
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
