Summary: there are a few things that God can not do.

IS THERE ANY THING THAT GOD CANNOT DO?

2 Timothy 2:13 "If we believe not, yet he abides faithful: He cannot deny himself."

The Bible does tell us that there are some things that God cannot do.

1ST of all; God cannot be contained, put in a test tube and analyzed.

A. Job 37:23 "Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict."

As one man said it like this, ~~“I have observed the power of the watermelon seed. It has the power of drawing from the ground and through itself 200,000 times its weight. When you can tell me how it takes this material and out of it colors an outside surface, and then forms inside of it a white rind and within that again a red heart, thickly inlaid with black seeds, each one of which in turn is capable of drawing through itself 200,000 times its weight—when you can explain to me the mystery of a watermelon, you can ask me to explain the mystery of God.~~

2 Chronicles 2:6 "But who is able to build Him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? --

In Psalm 145:3, David said of God, "His greatness is unsearchable."

No; God cannot be contained in a test tube are any thing else.

~~Another thing that God cannot do is sin.

James 1:13 "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man:"

let me remind us right here, when you that are saved receive our glorified body at the rapture of the church, we’ll no longer be tempted with sinful things either, but we’re not perfected yet and you and I that are saved are going to have problems with this flesh as long as we’re in these old earthly bodies.

Just remember that when that happy day comes then we’ll no longer have sinful thoughts to enter our mind either.

Then we’ll have a perfect body and not any sinful thoughts, but make no mistake, as long as we have to lay these bodies down at night to let them rest, as long as we have to eat, as long as we need to wear glasses, wear hearing aids, wash the dirt from our bodies every day, we can know that we’re still not perfect, but one day we will be.

1st john 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Habakkuk 1:13a "Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity…"

That’s why God turned His back on His Only Begotten Son, the Lord Jesus, as He was hanging on the cross He bare the sins of the whole world.

1st Peter 2: 24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

God cannot look upon sin, as Jesus hung there with the sins of the whole world upon Him as He was paying our sin debt.

Jesus was about to die in our place, he was our substitute, the bible tells us in

Romans 6: 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; --

As Jesus bare our sins He cried out as He was about to die in our stead, in

Matt. 27: 45Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. 46And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, **why hast thou forsaken me? God could not look upon sin.

We need to remember that the Bible first of all reviles the holiness of God, before it reviles the love of God.

Psalms 5:4 "For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee."

The only way that sinful man will ever dwell with the HOLY GOD is to have the righteousness of Jesus Christ imputed on him or her, because our righteousness are as filthy rages in His sight. Isaiah 64:6 6But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;

Romans 4:22 –Abraham--**And therefore it was imputed** to him for righteousness.

23Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; 24But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
