Summary: The word of God is forever settled in heaven.

I saw a scripture recently and on meditating on this powerful verse in the word of God it amazes me that we do have an amazing God. Who truly cares for us all and loves us with an everlasting love. This scripture will help us to trust in the promises of God in our lives and to know that indeed what God as spoken in our lives will surely come to pass and when He as spoken, it is settled and to trust that what He says is what will be in our lives.

In the book of Hebrews 6:18 this is what I saw that got me into a position of resting in the promise that God gave me.

Hebrews 6:18

That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we [b]might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.

Easy to read version

These two things cannot change: God cannot lie when he says something, and he cannot lie when he makes an oath.

So these two things are a great help to us who have come to God for safety. They encourage us to hold on to the hope that is ours.

Amplified version

So that by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge would have strong encouragement and indwelling strength to hold tightly to the hope set before us.

New living translation

So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

Contemporary English version

God cannot tell lies! And so his promises and vows are two things that can never be changed.

We have run to God for safety. Now his promises should greatly encourage us to take hold of the hope that is right in front of us.

God is not a man that should lie, nor a son of man that should repent has He said and would He not do - Numbers 23:19. I am so glad that our God is not like men that would always tell lies. We has humans we have a tendency to lie and I am not in anyway saying that everybody lies, but there is something in us that causes us to tell lies once in a while or often and we all know that a lie is a lie, there is no difference in a small lie or a big lie.

But we do have a God that is not a man. What God says is what will be in our lives. He as given us some promises and His word as well is the only truth that is true. Remember that He said to us in His word that the truth we know, will set us free - John 8: 31 - 32.

Whatever God says will surely come to be, this is the truth that has set me free this week and I do believe that in all our lives, that promise or that vow will come to manifestation in our life time.

Looking at the promises of God and all He said in His word from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation, what He spoke came to be. He said in the book of Isaiah 55:11

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,

But it shall accomplish what I please,

And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

This simply means that He cannot fail and that promise He gave to us will become true in our lives. Now, remember that He said in 2 Peter 3:8

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

And in Psalm 90:4

For a thousand years in Your sight

Are like yesterday when it is past,

And like a watch in the night.

Therefore, how we see the times in our lives is different from how our heavenly Father sees the times in His own eyes. We might be looking at things differently but to Him, that holds the world in his hands it is so entirely different. I have been waiting on the promise He gave me for quite sometime now, but in my time of waiting, I believe and trust that He is building me up for that promise to come to manifestation in my life. And this is what is happening to a lot of people now.
