Summary: God presides over promises and not punishment. Many people see God as the one who only exacts punishment and vengeance.

It Begins With You

A Purposeful Generation Begins With You

Isaiah 44:3 - For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring.

What a wonderful promise from the Lord. This speaks about God’s promises, power and presence in our lives.

God presides over promises and not punishment. Many people see God as the one who only exacts punishment and vengeance.

There are people who have rejected God from the foundation of the earth, and then there are those who are thirsty and seek God with their whole heart, and mind, and soul.

Jeremiah 29:13 – And you will seek Me and find Me.

The promises in the Word are based on conditions and are available to us through the choices we make. God is always ready to do what He has promised to do. If we are thirsty, He will pour blessings upon our lives. There is nothing for those who do not seek Him. There is nothing for the person who does not thirst.

Thirst can represent many things. It can represent a desire to know more of God or your tiredness of being in lack and poverty. Thirst can mean that you are tired of operating in a negative environment or that you are so tired of business or family problems that you start calling out to God.

1. Promises

God’s treasures in heaven are for His people, and they consist of promises. If you are in need and cry out to God, He will pour out His blessings upon your life.

2. Provision

Isaiah 44:3 - ….. I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring.

What begins with our thirst flows onto other people and means provision for others. We are the carriers of blessings to other people and starts with our being thirsty.

We can release or withhold blessings to others.

Being thirsty releases more power than prayer because we become the source of the river which touches the nations.

We can either stop the river, or we can cause a flood.

3. Protection

Isaiah 44:3- … and My blessing on your offspring.

When we hunger and thirst after God, our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are protected. We become the source of their blessings.

4. Power

Isaiah 44:3-…. I will pour My Spirit on your descendants..

When we seek after God, He fills us with the Holy Spirit which empowers us with heaven’s power.

5. Peace

Isaiah 44:3- For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring.

God is able to keep us in perfect peace when we seek Him.
