Summary: The acronym HALT means Hungry, Angry, Lonely, and Tired, today we will look at Loneliness.

It is not Good that Man should be Alone!

(H.A.L.T.) The dangers of Loneliness

Romans 11:1-3

1I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, 3Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

The prophet was feeling the pains of feeling alone. There are four times that we are very vulnerable to Satan and his tricks, and can not see clearly God’s plan for our lives. We use the acronym HALT to remember them.

LONELY

TIRED

Today we will focus on number three, LONELY. The word ALONE occurs in the Bible 107 times, and most times it has a negative connotation attached to it, except when referenced to God. The word lonely or alone means separation, or feeling abandoned, lost, unaided, unaccompanied, feeling by yourself. God said in Genesis 2:18:

18And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

The feeling of loneliness carries with it excessive baggage, and it is too great to carry by yourself for any extended period. Which is why God promises us that with Him we are never alone.

5Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Hebrews 13:5-6

18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. St. John 14:18

Spiritually we are never alone, but what about the physical side of man? Let’s look at a few places in the Old Testament. Back to Genesis second chapter, and verse 18-20.

Point 1 - The decision to make Adam a helpmeet came from God.

Point 2 - Before God gave Adam a wife; He gave Adam a job.

Point 3 - What God had in mind for Adam; far exceeded Adam’s expectations.

Point 1 - The decision to make Adam a helpmeet came from God, and God had to MAKE his mate.

Many times the person that God has in mind for us is not ready when we think we are ready. God has to allow some of us to go through some things to prepare us for the right thing. You see, after the wrong person or persons drag your heart through the mud enough times, you will appreciate the right person when he or she comes alone. We try to pick our own mates when we are not really sure what we want ourselves.

What’s better? A woman who looks like a beauty queen and is sleeping with everybody except you, or a woman who keeps herself up, and is beautiful to you, and loves being around you?

What is better? A man that looks like Russell Crowe or Denzel Washington, and is trying to sleep with every woman he meets, or a man that keeps himself up, keeps a job, and loves you, and makes you feel like the Queen you are?

Some women are so silly, because you let a man do to you what God would never do.

Everything that God created came from the ground. Read Genesis 2:19. Even man was made from the dust of the Earth, but when God decided to make woman, He made her unique and special. She didn’t come from the dust; she came from the body of Adam.

22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

Women you didn’t come from the dirt, and neither should you let a man treat you like dirt. Read Genesis 2:21. Stop letting these men make you feel like less than you are. God has a mate designed especially for you. Wait on the Lord.

Men stop letting these silly women treat you like you are lucky to have her. God made you first. You are the first, not the last, you are the head, not the tail. You better recognize you are looking at spiritual royalty, baby. She is blessed to have you, as well as you are blessed to have her. Stop letting women control you, and make you feel like less than a man. God is preparing a mate designed especially for you. Wait on the Lord.

It is certainly very true that God said man should not be alone, but with so many very high maintenance women out there now that think they are God's gift to men which there not, certainly makes it much difficult for many of us men that are really looking to meet a real good one for a change to share our life with.
