Summary: what is the altar

What is the altar, many would say it's an OT relic, some would say it's not relevant for today, and others would tell you it has no real place in the church. What is the altar, (first, second, third), it's a:

1. Place of Peace.

Abraham knew the altar was a place of peace from the storms, sorrows, and situations that come our way in life. "And there he build an altar unto the Lord," (Genesis 12:7). What is the altar, it's a place of peace from the storms, sorrows, and situations in life.

2. Place of Power.

Abraham knew the altar was a place of power, he built the altar by faith, knowing that God was able to make the impossible - possible, that God was able to move the unmoveable, and that God was able to make a way where there seemed to be no way. "And there he built an altar unto the Lord," (Genesis 1:7). What is the altar, it's a place of believing that God is able to make the impossible - possible, He's able to move the unmoveable, and that He's able to make a way where there seems to be no way in your life. I serve a miracle working God!

3. Place of Prayer.

Abraham knew the altar was a place of prayer, as he dealt with the problems, perplexities, and puzzles of life, "And there he built an altar unto the Lord", (Genesis 1:7). What is the altar, it's a place of prayer when your dealing with the problems, perplexities, and puzzles of life.

Cocl: THE ALTAR STILL HAS A PLACE IN THE CHURCH TODAY! for it's a place of peace, power, and prayer in your life. It's time to build an altar of prayer in your life!
