It’s Possible- Just believe Mark 11:22-25NLT

Nothing is so embarrassing as watching someone do something that you said could not be done. (Sam Ewing)

In 1975 filmmaker George Lucas begin to think, inquire and dream of visual effects all of his friends and coworkers agreed couldn’t be done. They all told Lucas that it was technically impossible- thus the making of “Star Wars” was created. (The rest is history.)

Mark 11:22-25NLT Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. 23 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. 24 I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. 25 But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.

Verse 25 has to be read in context as anyone desires to apply vs.22-24. (Forgive-period.)

* There’s several thoughts I want to share with you involving this text.

1. People who embrace possibility thinking (Faith in God) are capable of accomplishing tasks that seem impossible because they believe in solutions. (They know the Creator.)

Mark 11:22NKJ Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God.

2. Possibility thinking (Faith in God) increases your possibilities.

What the alternative? (Unbelief)

3. Possibility thinking (Faith in God) draws opportunities and people to you.

“People who think big, attract big thinkers.”

Announcement: “Well for the next 3 years we are going to do nothing but maintain.” (Do nothing.)

*No stress to build. * No missions. * No new ministry. *No love, prayer and grace. (That’s what we would say without saying.)

Proverbs 29:18NKJ Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law.

“Listen, that revelation (vision) is your mountain, and without speaking to mountain’s you have no purpose.”

4. Possibility thinking (Faith in God) increases other’s possibilities.

In other words, it’s contagious!

5. Possibility thinking (Faith in God) allows you to dream big dreams.

David Schwartz believes, “Big thinkers are specialist in creating positive, forward-looking, optimistic pictures in their own minds and in the minds of others.”

“What dream or vision might you embrace and pursue if there were no chance that you might fail?”

6. Possibility thinking (Faith in God) makes it possible to rise above average.

In the 1970’s, during the oil crisis, auto makers were told to lighten the load of American cars. The senior engineers thought about it and said, “it couldn’t be done.” Therefore, the auto makers gave the problem to less experienced engineers, and they solved the problem.

Every time you remove the label of impossible from any task, your potential goes off the charts.

Mark 11:23TM This mountain, for instance: Just say, 'Go jump in the lake'—no shuffling or shilly-shallying—and it's as good as done.

7. Possibility thinking (Faith in God) gives you energy. “You’ll always invest yourself in what you believe in.”

When you truly believe, that will give you energy.

Mark 11:24TM That's why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you'll get God's everything.

8. Possibility thinking (faith in God) keeps you from giving up.

If you believe you can’t, you can’t.

Draw a pie- “What percentage of time and energy is based upon the past, regrets, failure?”

Last question: “How many faithless or impossibility thinkers are you acquainted with who achieve big things?”

In closing-

A. Stop focusing on impossibilities.

B. Stay away from experts.

C. Look for possibilities in every situation.

D. Dream one size bigger,

E. Question the status quo, find inspiration from great achievers.

Robert F. Kennedy once said, “Some men see things as they are and say, ‘why?’ I dream of things that never were and say, ‘why not?’”

Benediction.
