Summary: Throughout the Scriptures, there have been times recorded that God would call for a time of divine impartation where an encounter with Him would usher in a process of change that would come in the realm of the Spirit.
‘It’s A New Season But You Have To Seize The Moment’
As I look toward the future, I am drawn to the story of Elisha, especially to what happened to him, recorded in 2Kings:
And the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, "See now, the place where we dwell with you is too small for us. 2Please, let us go to the Jordan, and let every man take a beam from there, and let us make there a place where we may dwell." So he answered, "Go." 3Then one said, "Please consent to go with your servants." And he answered, "I will go." 4So he went with them. And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees. 5But as one was cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell into the water; and he cried out and said, "Alas, master! For it was borrowed." 6So the man of God said, "Where did it fall?" And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float.
Throughout the Scriptures, there have been times recorded that God would call for a time of divine impartation where an encounter with Him would usher in a process of change that would come in the realm of the Spirit. It happened with Abraham before he could fulfill his calling. It happened with the Apostle Paul when he went to Arabia, rather than Jerusalem to hear God, and from there he went to the Gentiles to bring the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the world.
Many times because God is calling us into a new season He also calls us to move into a new dimension. Whether it’s physical or spiritual, so as you follow the Holy Spirit’s prompting, you will begin to see dramatic changes beginning to happen. Word of Faith I stand here this morning to tell you that I can sense in my spirit that we are about to enter into a new season where we need to recognize that this is our season and discern the time of that which is coming. I remember being in Miami, Florida with our 1st Assistant Presiding Bishop during their Southeastern Region Jurisdictional Holy Convocation and hearing the Lord speak a word in my spirit that we are in the process of a new season because this is a new day. Now understand something that when you are in a process you have no control over the actions which take place in your life, while I believe that destiny is not a matter of chance; but a matter of choice. I also believe that because I have made the choice to folllow God’s plans for my life. I also believe that I am in His divine will. Understand that when you are in a process that there are things that are going to come into your life that are meant to push or stretch you towards an intentional result because God is in the midst of the process working to manufacture and package you for His good. As we look at our text we see that this axe head spoken of here in 2Kings 6 is significant. For you see the prophets were building a new home for their ministry. In the process of felling trees for the purpose, one of them accidentally lost the ax head in the Jordan River. Before they could continue, they needed to retrieve that ax head. They needed a sharp ax head to continue, and an ax handle won’t cut wood—it will only bruise and damage the tree. So Elisha threw a stick into the water and the ax head, rose to the surface. When this miracle took place through the anointing it ushered Elisha into a new level of ministry far surpassing anything that he had known.
