JERUSALEM- CONQUERED
Introduction:
We are continuing in our Series about some of the most mentioned Cities in the Bible. Tonight, we are going to study the city that is 1st on the list- Jerusalem. Jerusalem is mentioned 811 times in the Bible. Currently, there are 3 different Religions that consider Jerusalem to be a holy site- Judaism, Islam, and Christianity.
David was the King of Israel. It took many years for that to happen; but once it did, David continued to push forward. The next step in David’s life was to establish the Capital City of Israel- Jerusalem. Anytime you are faithfully following God’s plan in your life, there will be barriers. The enemy will do things to make you want to quit; but you cannot fulfill God’s plan for your life if you just stop. We are more than conquerors through Jesus.
Conquerors…
1. Do not listen to the enemy.
The Jebusites believed that no one could enter into Jerusalem. It was so difficult to get into Jerusalem, that even the blind and lame could keep people out. The enemy believed that they were untouchable; but David still captured Jerusalem.
Christians, we must believe God when He says that all things are possible through Him. The enemy can say whatever they want to; but it doesn’t mean that it is true. I have noticed that when the enemy gets overconfident is when God gives us a victory. Be obedient to God and ignore the enemy. God will deal with the enemy.

2. Challenge those around them to be better.
David told them that they would have to use the water shaft to get into the city. History tells us that these shafts were 50 feet vertical spaces where the water was drawn up with a bucket. This was a very difficult area to climb through and Joab took the challenge. Joab had disgraced himself when he killed Abner; but then God gave him a 2nd chance. Joab became the Commander-in-chief of Israel.

3. Are strengthened by God daily.
David became more and more powerful each day. He took up residence in Jerusalem and began building up the City. Not only was David recognized in Jerusalem; but his fame spread all over. King Hiram sent people with the supplies and laborers to build a palace for David. God uses people and circumstances to shape us and strengthen us.
Conclusion:
Are you a conqueror? Are you strong or weak? Are you still moving forward or are you stalled out?
