Summary: The finished work of Jesus Christ made us His righteousness

When Jesus resurrected He made us His righteousness and this helps us to approach the throne of grace without any form of condemnation. We are so loved by God that He sees us as righteous because of His Son Jesus Christ. Let's go into the scriptures to confirm this great promise of our Father. The day I realised that I am the righteousness of God my life changed and also knowing that my works does not make me right in God's presence, but my faith in Him alone makes me His righteousness.

Jeremiah 23: 5 - 6

Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord,

“That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness;

A King shall reign and prosper,

And execute judgement and righteousness in the earth.

In His days Judah will be saved,

And Israel will dwell safely;

Now this is His name by which He will be called:

THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

1 Corinthians 1:30

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption

Philippians 3: 8 - 9

Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.

Because of what Adam did by disobeying God, sin came into our lives and Jesus was sent to redeem us from the curse that was brought on mankind. God immediately set a plan in motion so that we would not be held captive by Satan.

1 Corinthians 15:22 records this "For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

Romans 5: 12 - 21 records

Death in Adam, Life in Christ

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgement which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgement came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Because of Adam all die,, but in Christ who became our righteousness all will be made alive.And this is why 2 Corinthians 5:21 says this " For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him".

God had to lay or impute on Christ all our sins the past , present and future sins. Jesus became the Lamb Of God and John The Baptist introduced Him to us in John chapter One verse 29 like this

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Jesus Our Lamb became a sacrifice and took away our sin. and after His finished work on the cross. He cried out "It is finished"!

I love this statement in the WORD Of God - It is finished!

It is because of His cry that God made us His righteousness.

What is the meaning of Righteousness?

- The quality of being morally right or justifiable

- Rightness

- Free from guilt or sin

- Upright

- Just

Beautiful read and agree with the fundamental addressing of righteousness in Christ by faith. Being pure with absolution and no condemnation.
