Summary: Jesus has blessed us with His peace and we are to receive His peace by faith.

Jesus loves us so much that He through His death and resurrection has given us his peace. He himself is peace, he has put his peace in us. He is our Salvation that came to save us from the troubles of this world. In this world, there is so much going on but as we fix our eyes on Jesus his peace that is in will help us to be overcomers.

Jesus said in John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Another translation writes it this way

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

When Jesus was going back to his father he gave us all a gift - the gift of his own peace. It's a gift that the LORD Himself gave us and we are to treasure his gift by believing and receiving his gift of peace.

By faith we have his gift of peace in our lives.

We see that Jesus said he gave us his own peace, not our own peace because our own man made peace will not last long. But he gave us his peace that is eternal and everlasting.

With all that is happening or going to happen we have his own peace in us. The peace that is from above and not of this world. So we do not need to be troubled or afraid.

Everywhere Jesus went, he would say to people and to us. DO NOT BE AFRAID OR DO NOT FEAR!

This were the words of Jesus who is called The Prince Of Peace - Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jesus is our Peace

He is our Peace in the midst of that sickness, pain, disease , heartache, stress and poverty .

Whatever we might be going through let us proclaim that Jesus is our Peace. We say it and believe that He is our Peace.

An example of Jesus' peace is in Matthew 14:22-33

Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Then those who were in the boat came and worshipped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.

Peter was walking towards Jesus when he looked at the wind that was raging and he became afraid but Jesus who is called the Prince Of Peace stretched out his hand to Peter and caught him, saying to him that he should not be afraid.

Therefore, when the storm of life is raging we are to focus on Jesus and trust in him to help us in our time of need.

Jesus said to us in John 16:33

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Jesus is saying here that yes we would experience tribulation but he also said that we should be of good cheer for he on our behalf has overcome the world.

We have victory in his peace, because He is the Prince Of Peace.

He the peace giver also said to us that he has given to us peace of mind and heart. And where there is fear he gave us his peace.
