Summary: Jesus can come to you anytime

Jesus walked in

John 20: 19-28

19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week,

when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews,

Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

20 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side.

Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

21 So Jesus said to them again,

“Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.

25 The other disciples, therefore, said to him, “We have seen the Lord.”

So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails,

and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”

26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them.

Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!”

27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands;

And reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

Pray

I don’t know who I’m talking to this morning,

But I believe by the Spirit of God.

That somebody is going to get a breakthrough in this house.

Somebody’s going to get a deliverance this morning

I believe that somebody’s is going to get some real peace and real joy.

God is sending an earthquake your way today,

And he’s going to shake some things loose that have been bound up a long time.

He is about to take some shackles of some of your feet

Amen

As we read this text We find that the Disciples were gathered together in a spirit of discouragement,

They found themselves in Despair.

They where feeling hopelessness.

They felt like everything they had done for the last 2 years was for nothing

They had believed ———That Jesus was going to be their deliverer

That He was going to liberate them from Roman rule,

That He was going to tear down the temple and rebuild them a new one

They thought that He was going to set up His kingdom on earth and reign here.

Even though He told them that His Kingdom was not of this world.

Now they feel like they have nowhere to turn

And we find them in a room hiding feeling sorry for themselves…

Jesus was their teacher and now He was dead

Now it’s all over

All their hope was buried in a tomb …….

In some of their minds, they remember the cruel crucifixion.

They remember Him being beat with the cat of 9 tales

Petter remembering standing by the fire denying Him 3 times

Some remember Him carrying the Cross up Golgotha’s hill

John remembering the sound as they drove nails into His hands and into His feet.

The spear in His side.

Some of them saw Him die.

Some saw Joseph of Arimathea bagging for His body ……

And putting Him in His tomb and a stone being rolled in front of the door.

And I bet they thought to themselves;

It's over!

What’s the use now

He tried.

He was a good man.

He meant well.

But now He is dead

It was a good run But now it’s all over…….

Let me tell you something this morning

It’s not over————- Till God says its over.

I don’t care how dark it looks

I don’t care how quiet it gets

It’s never over when God is in it

The doctor may say Its over———— We’ve done all we can do

The lawyer may say its over.

The banker may say its over.

That husband or wife may say its over.

They may say that it is impossible

But The word (Impossible) does not exist in Gods vocabulary:

The word of God says:

With God all things are possible.

All things are possible to him that believes.

Luke 18:27

And he said The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

Man can do nothing for you?

Only God can turn your situation around!

Only God can pull you out

On God can take you out of the sinking sand

And place your feet on the solid Rock
