Justice Is Coming

Revelation 11:13-19

13In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven.

14The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly.

15Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"

16And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God,

17saying: "We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, because You have taken Your great power and reigned.

18The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time of

the dead, that they should be judged, and that You should reward Your

servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear Your name,

small and great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth."

19Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His

covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises,

thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.

We resume our look at the book of Revelation

where we left off last Sunday.

Verse 13 In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven.

An earthquake brings judgment.

One tenth of the buildings in Jerusalem are destroyed.

7,000 people lose their lives in this earthquake.

Terror spreads throughout the world.

Fortunately, many people finally come to Jesus for salvation.

They will realize that God has more power than the Antichrist.

Verses 14 and 15 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly. 15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"

The word “woe” also means “troubles” or “judgments”.

The first “woe” ended back in chapter 9.

The second “woe” ended in this chapter verse 13.

There will be no delay in the coming of the third “woe”.

The blowing of the 7th trumpet

introduces the final series of divine judgments.

All those in heaven rejoice.

The victory of Jesus over the Antichrist will soon be accomplished.

Great rejoicing and loud worship fills heaven.

On earth many lightning's, noise, thundering, hail,

and an earthquake announce the approaching end.

Look again at the words “The kingdoms of this world” in Verse 15.

Whose kingdom is that referring to?

If you see what’s happening in our world today,

the answer isn’t difficult to see.

Satan certainly has established a kingdom here.

Jesus said so on several occasions.

John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
