II. Understanding Leadership

a. Leadership is not a title or a position, nor is it awarded, appointed, assigned or mandated.

b. Leadership must be earned by influence.

c. It’s not the position that makes the leader; it’s the leader who makes the position.

III. Five Levels of Leadership

a. Positional – People follow you because they have to. This is the lowest level.

b. Permission – People follow you because they want to (relational).

c. Production – People follow you because of what you have done (results).

d. Reproduction – People follow you because of what you have done for them (loyalty). Personal growth – People follow you because they are being developed.

e. Personhood – People follow you because of who you are and what you represent (respect). This is the highest level of influence. Explosive growth.

IV. How Leaders Influence People

a. Leaders love people (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

b. Leaders serve and are great servants. (Isaiah 53:

c. Leaders care and show interest for people by their words and actions.

Leaders are always mindful of their influence.

I pray that every one of us will be the best influencer that we can possibly be. What matters is how we impact and lead our families and world. Always be a good shepherd to those around you.
