Summary: Every leader be it a team leader, pastor, youth leader, father, manager etc., has to be mentally strong and emotionally stable, otherwise there would be disaster.
King Ahasuerus
Esther 1:13”..the king Ahasuerus said to the wise men who understood the times--for it was the custom of the king so to speak before all who knew law and justice.”
The 2015 Germanwings Flight 9525 disaster, in which 150 people were killed after the co-pilot may have intentionally crashed the plane in a suicide attempt, highlights the importance of the mental condition of a leader. Also MH370 was on its way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014, with 239 people on board, when it vanished and became one of the world's greatest aviation mysteries. They again suspect mental illness of the Pilot to be the reason of this tragedy. When the captain of the plane is not mentally stable then the passengers are at his mercy and in danger, likewise, every leader be it a team leader, pastor, youth leader, father, manager etc., has to be mentally strong otherwise there would be disaster.
Now what has this got to do with the above scripture, you may think – a LOT; king Ahasuerus of 127 provinces drank not for one hour but one whole week, (verse 10) and gave a crazy order to bring his wife queen Vashti in front of him and the princes but she wisely refused, this enraged the king. This guy was drunk and was acting crazily and to top it all, he called wise men to discuss the matter. He was a perfect example of insanity and bad leadership; yet, he expected obedience from his wife.
All around we see people expect great things from others while they sit and hatch eggs. If we want success and a good family, be a good example to start with, are you listening? When I started Abide School (school for the poor) on September 11, 2011, I told my husband, I have to leave home by 6.30 in the morning to open the school because kids of rag pickers were being dropped around that time. Before I left at 6.30 am, I had to finish cooking in my home and then leave, this became my regular routine. My entire family today are with me in this project and they are much more involved and working hard. Saw that? Show the way and then expect results!
In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness
Apostle Paul said: Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do.
