KNOW YOUR GOD AND BE STRONG
1.REFUGE
PSALM 91;2, PSALM 50;15 JEREMIAH 33;3
God is a refuge for us in times of danger.He is a place of safety for us to run to for help and solace. When we are forsaken by everyone in this world still we have a refuge in God.
2.FORTRESS
Psalm 91;2 Proverbs 18;10 , John 10; 27-29
God is a fortress in our lives. He is the strongest protection for us. No enemy or attack or destruction can penetrate this fortress to destroy our lives.In times of war there are bomb shelters where people can be safe from destruction from bombs. God is stronger than any human shelter.When we are careful to stay inside this fortress we can be safe from destruction.
3.GOD.
Psalm 91;2 Matthew 7;21 Luke 6;46 Malachi 1;6
God is a sovereign authority.When He is our God He must rule over our lives.Jesus said not everyone who says Lord will enter the kingdom of God but he who does the will of God.As God He must be be loved , obeyed and worshipped.
4.KEEPER
God humbles Himself to be our keeper.Even Cain who murdered his brother Abel asked ’Am I my brother’s keeper.’ How much cares for us in order to be our keeper. Human watchmen often fail in their duty and sometimes fall asleep while keeping watch. But God neither slumbers nor sleeps.He constantly watches over us. He keeps our soul.He keeps us from all evil. He keeps our going out and coming in.
5.SHADE
Psalm 121;5 I Corinthians 10;13
God is a shade in our lives. The shade protects us from the direct heat of the sun. The heat of the sun may be very severe but the shade reduces the heat that we actually experience.Similarly the problems and difficulties we face may be very severe.But when God is a shade in our lives we do not face the direct attack of these difficulties.We are kept in the shade provided by God and the pain we actually experience is greatly reduced by His shade.
6.STRENGTH
Psalm 46;1 Philippians 4;13 II Corinthians 12;9-10
God is a strength in our lives.Whatever we are unable to do in our strength we are enabled to do with the strength of God.Apostle Paul says’ I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.God’s strength enables us bear those difficulties and burdens that we
cannot bear in our own strength.In our weakness His strength is made available
to us.
7.A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE
Psalm 46;1 Isaiah 43;2 Hebrews 13;5-6 Matthew 29;20
God is a very present help in trouble. He is always present with us even when no one else is with us.He is very close to us when we go through pain and agony. He never leaves us alone.We need not panic when there is no one to help us in trouble because God is present there to help us.
