Summary: As God met every need of the children of Israel in their wilderness journey, so will God meet our every need as we walk our pilgrim journey today.

LET GOD MEET YOUR NEED

“And the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.” I Timothy 1:14.

I. ISRAEL NEEDED GUIDANCE FOR THEIR JOURNEY.

"And the Lord went before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, so as to go by day and night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people." Exodus 13:21-22.

Although the main purpose of the cloud by day was to guide Israel through the desert, a secondary benefit was that the cloud shielded them from the scorching desert sun. The pillar of fire guided them by night but also provided warmth to lessen the cold of the desert nights.

II. ISRAEL NEEDED SAFE-PASSAGE FROM BONDAGE

"And the Lord said to Moses, ’Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea." Exodus 14:15-16.

III. ISRAEL NEEDED WATER IN THE BARREN DESERT REGION

The bitter waters of Marah made sweet. "So Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet." Exodus 15:25.

Water from the rock in Horeb: "Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and the water will come out of it, that the people may drink.’ And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel." Exodus 17:6

IV. ISRAEL NEEDED FOOD TO SUSTAIN THEIR STRENGTH

"…And He opened the doors of heaven; and He rained down manna upon them to eat, and gave them food from heaven. Man did eat the bread of angels; He sent them food in abundance. He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens; and by His power He directed the south wind. He rained meat upon them like the dust, even winged fowl like the sand of the seas…so they ate and were well filled.." Psalm 78:23b-29a/

V. ISRAEL NEEDED APPAREL FOR THE LONG JOURNEY

"And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet." Deuteronomy 29:5.
