Summary: One of our missions as Christians is to drill holes in the darkness so that the Gospel light can shin into the lives of others.

Quotes:

“Better to die fighting for freedom then be a prisoner all the days of your life.” ― Bob Marley

“Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged.” -Ronald Reagan

“It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere.” -Voltaire

“True freedom is the freedom to follow one’s own intellectual and spiritual pursuits.” -Samuel C. Fulkerson

Exodus 5:1-8

Let My People Go.

The Lord has done His part.

He fulfilled the Word.

He shed His precious Blood paying the full price.

Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

Tell) At a Black & Decker meeting – discussing the design of a new kind of drill the question was asked: “What is our purpose?” Someone said, “To make drills.” The meeting leader said: “No, our purpose is to drill holes.”

What the purpose of the people of God?

What is the purpose of Christians?

What is your purpose?

It is not to just come to Church to feel good by easing your conscious.

It is to “drill holes in the darkness”!

Three important things to always keep in mind:

1) Always be mindful that if you Live Right, You will Die Right.

2) You are what God says you are in His Word and that settles it.

3) And never forget your purpose in this life.

a. To Server the Most High God with all that you are.

i. For man cannot serve two masters.

PS: Anytime you move upstream toward the will of God, you will always encounter resistance from evil that is sufficient for day flowing contrary to you.

Paul said in II Timothy 2:26 “…they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

“Captive” – They are “Hostages”.

A Hostage is someone who is deprived of privilege, power and freedom.

A “Hostage” is not dead – Just powerless.

A “Hostage” is not accessible.

A “Hostage” is bound; a prisoner.

The people of Israel were hostages.

And yet there was a drawing, pulling them toward their God.

Toward freedom… Hope… Life.

There was a drawing, pulling them to go a Praise their God.

But they were hostages.

Jesus liberates!

Jesus let’s His people go!

Let my people go that they may praise Me.

The enemy, the horrible taskmaster just tightens the strangle hold.

Oh, but Jesus will not stop trying to set His people free!

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.”

Why? –Because, it is not enough to just live/exist; we must have life and it more abundantly!

The people of God were hostages; they were alive, but they did not have life more abundantly.

So God made a way where there was no way and set them free!

And your Lord will do the same for you, if you let Him.

Matthew 11:28-30 “28- Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29- Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30- For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
