Summary: When was the last time that you sensed God’s presence in your life?
LET’S GET BACK TO OUR SENSES
16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place ; and I knew it not.
My heart is burdened this morning. I feel that we have allowed
complacency to creep in. Maybe not on purpose, but maybe by
carelessness. (too busy, too many irons in the fire, sickness, problems).
complacency - A feeling of contentment or self-satisfaction, especially when coupled with an unawareness of danger or trouble.
I think we need personal revival. It’s time to fan the flames. It’s
time to fine tune our senses..
We have five and we have to use them all to fully experience
God and experience revival.
1. taste - To have experience or enjoyment; partake:
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
2. TOUCH- To affect the emotions of; move to tender response:
Read words to the song, “He Touched Me”.
3. HEAR- To be capable of perceiving
Has He spoken to you lately? Did you listen?
7 He that hath an ear, let him hear
31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
4. Sight- To perceive with the eye. To have a mental image of;
To understand; comprehend: To believe possible;
When was the last time you gazed upon Him, on that cross
realizing that He is there in your place?
When was the last time you saw Him in the pages of His word?
When was the last time you witnessed Him working in your life
and you knew it without a doubt.
5. SMELL-To sense the presence of by or as if by the olfactory nerves;
1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
2 As the lily among thorns,
Where are these senses best exercised? In a prayer closet or right here this morning.
