TEXT SUMMARY:
The children of God, who have been adopted by grace (Gal. 4:4-7), have been given incredible privileges; as a result of their new birth (John 3:3), God's children purify themselves from wickedness and strive to conform their lives to that of Christ's.
OUTLINE OF THE PASSAGE:
I. The privileges of the children of God (vv.1-2)
a) They are loved by the Father
b) They are known by and know the Father
c) They shall see and be changed into the likeness of the Son
II. The purity of the children of God (vv.3-6)
a) "Sin" here means habitual sin--a lifestyle
b) A lifestyle of sin indicates that one is not a child of God (v.6)
III. The path of the children of God (vv.7-8)
"Do not be deceived!" (Gal. 6:7)
