Listen To Jesus And Do What He Says

Summary: The sayings Jesus delivered to his disciples at the sermon on the mount will be the materials for a solid Christian life, but only if we act on them.
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: (25) and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. (26) “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: (27) and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” (NKJV)
I. It is the Wise Thing to Do (24-25)
A. Your foundation for life will be solid
B. You will weather the storms of life
C. You will not fall
II. You Will Fall Apart Otherwise (26-27)
A. You will be foolish
B. Your foundation will be weak
C. The storm will be stronger than your foundation
D. You will fall
III. The Key to a Strong Foundation
A. Think and behave in a godly manner
B. Study the scriptures
C. Avoid activities that will weaken your faith
D. Admit sin; confess sin; repent from sin
E. Be more serious about worship
F. Pray
