Live A Righteous Life - Proverbs 2:20-21

Proverbs 2:20 So you must follow the example of good people and live a righteous life.

Proverbs 2:21 Righteous people---people of integrity---will live in this land of ours.

I. Follow Examples Of Good People

II. Righteous People Are People Of Integrity

We are all advised to live a godly and righteous life before all men, whether believer or unbelievers, because righteous people are people of integrity.

Proverbs 13:20 Be friends with those who are wise, and you will become wise. Choose fools to be your friends, and you will have trouble.

Psalms 119:63 I am a friend to everyone who worships you. I am a friend to everyone who obeys your instructions.

It's about going with good people that keeps you alive with no trouble. Follow the examples of these good people. It could be your pastor, your ministry leader, your department head, or even your member. The examples they set must not contradict with the bible's examples. Go with worshippers, lovers of God, people that fear the LORD, and doers of the Word. If you are single, and are looking for your life's partner, better to look in church before and after services, before your fellowships especially in ministry's fellowship. Why? These are the places you can end up with a righteous person.

I. Follow Examples Of Good People

The examples they set will reveal them.

Matthew 7:16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

Matthew 7:20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who calls me Lord will enter God's kingdom. The only people who will enter are those who do what my Father in heaven wants.

Don't follow the examples of the majority, majority are always wrong. Remembe, the majority themselves crucified the Lord, so better go with a few good men and few good women of God.

II. Righteous People Are People Of Integrity

Proverbs 2:21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. (KJV)

Perfect came from the Hebrew word that means without blemish, complete, full, perfect, sincerely, without spot.

Psalms 112:4 Light shines in the darkness for good people, for those who are merciful, kind, and just.

Psalms 112:5 Happy is the person who is generous with his loans, who runs his business honestly.

Psalms 112:6 A good person will never fail; he will always be remembered.

Psalms 37:3 Trust in the LORD and do good; live in the land and be safe.

Psalms 37:9 Those who trust in the LORD will possess the land, but the wicked will be driven out.

Psalms 37:11 but the humble will possess the land and enjoy prosperity and peace.

Psalms 37:22 Those who are blessed by the LORD will possess the land, but those who are cursed by him will be driven out.

Psalms 37:29 The righteous will possess the land and live in it forever.

Psalms 84:11 The LORD is our protector and glorious king, blessing us with kindness and honor. He does not refuse any good thing to those who do what is right.

Are you worried that you will be driven from your house since you're not able to update your mortgage payments? Be still and know that God is God. If you are humble, and you trust in the LORD, you will remain in the land (and house) where you are, always serve the LORD with sincerity of heart and He will see you thru.
