Living In Dangerous Company

Nehemiah has came to the end of the building of the wall, and he has set up major changes in the way that the children of Israel are doing their daily activities. (When we truly honor and serve God, our daily routines is changed.) We find in the scriptures that there were some that honored God with their mouths, but their hearts were far from them. We find that the priest (Eliashib) had set up a room for one of the ones trying to destroy the work of the wall. This shows the danger of making room for the enemy.

1. Alliance (vs.4)- The priest had made a pact with the enemy of the children of Israel.

2. Allowance (vs.5)- The priest made room for the enemy.

3. Alert (vs.7)- Nehemiah became aware of the wrong in the midst of the temple.

4. Aggressive (vs.8, 9)-Nehemiah not only saw the problem but he became active to remove the problem.
