We’ve made even more improvements to our online Bible to make your sermon prep even better. Read the release notes here.

Summary: #7 in a series focused on the foundational biblical truths found in The Peace Prayer of St. Francis: Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace.

NIV John 3:16 (quickview)  “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:19 (quickview)  This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20) Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21) But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

NIV John 8:12 (quickview)  When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Do you see the natural progression?

JESUS IS LIGHT breaking in on darkness

Read it in the MESSAGE

Matthew 5:13-16 (quickview)  (MsgB)

"Let me tell you why you are here. ......You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. [15] If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. [16] Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

Lord, make me an instrument of YOUR LIGHT!

Last Sunday...inviting our neighbors over for breakfast. Shoveling ice & snow off neighbor’s sidewalks.

CHURCH was cancelled last week. BUT NO, the Lord showed me that CHURCH was actually the BEST it’s been in weeks!

WHY?...because Sandy & I were able to be LIGHTS in the DARKNESS...literally. We had light. Our neighbors didn’t. GO!

What about you? Does it take a power outage to bring that LIGHT out of you?
