VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Man was made a little lower than angels

"For some little time You have ranked him lower than and inferior to the angels;"

Hebrews 2:9 (Amplified Bible)

2:9 But we are able to see Jesus, Who was ranked lower than the angels for a little while, crowned with glory and honor because of His having suffered death, in order that by the grace (unmerited favor) of God [to us sinners] He might experience death for every individual person.

Psalms 8:5 (Amplified Bible)

8:5 Yet You have made him but a little lower than God [or heavenly beings], and You have crowned him with glory and honor.

B. Man was crowned with glory and honor

"You have crowned him with glory and honor"

Crowned means:

1) to encircle with a crown, to crown: the victor in a contest

2) to adorn, to honour

JESUS is in us that's why we have this glory and honor in Him.

We prioritize and desire glory and honor in our lives.

Romans 2:7 (Amplified Bible)

2:7 To those who by patient persistence in well-doing [springing from piety] seek [unseen but sure] glory and honor and [the eternal blessedness of] immortality, He will give eternal life.

We already have glory and honor from JESUS.

Romans 2:10 (Amplified Bible)

2:10 But glory and honor and [heart] peace shall be awarded to everyone who [habitually] does good, the Jew first and also the Greek (Gentile).

2 Corinthians 4:18 (Amplified Bible)

4:18 Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.

C. Man was set over GOD's works

"and set him over the works of Your hands,"

Revelation 5:10 (Amplified Bible)

5:10 And You have made them a kingdom (royal race) and priests to our God, and they shall reign [as kings] over the earth!

Exodus 19:6 (Amplified Bible)

19:6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests, a holy nation [consecrated, set apart to the worship of God]. These are the words you shall speak to the Israelites.

Isaiah 61:6 (Amplified Bible)

61:6 But you shall be called the priests of the Lord; people will speak of you as the ministers of our God. You shall eat the wealth of the nations, and the glory [once that of your captors] shall be yours.

1 Peter 2:5 (Amplified Bible)

2:5 [Come] and, like living stones, be yourselves built [into] a spiritual house, for a holy (dedicated, consecrated) priesthood, to offer up [those] spiritual sacrifices [that are] acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ.

CHRIST's intention why He created man in His image is for us to rule and reign with Him in the coming ages.

IX. CONCLUSION:

JESUS is in us the Hope of Glory

Colossians 1:27 (Amplified Bible)

1:27 To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory.
