I. EXORDIUM:

Will you bring your money in exchange of your salvation? YES

II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:

Believers

III. OBJECTIVES:

To show that material blessings are not enough to equal GOD's spiritual blessings in our lives.

IV. TEXT:

Romans 15:27 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

They were glad to do this because they feel they owe a real debt to them. Since the Gentiles received the spiritual blessings of the Good News from the believers in Jerusalem, they feel the least they can do in return is to help them financially.

V. THESIS:

Material blessings are not enough to equal GOD's spiritual blessings in our lives.

VI. TITLE:

Material blessings for spiritual blessings

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Author: Apostle Paul

B. Date written: 57 A.D.

C. Place written: From Corinth

D. Purpose: To prepare Roman believers for his long awaited visit.

E. To whom written: Roman Christians

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Example of Macedonia and Achaia - made contributions for Jerusalem

"They were glad to do this because they feel they owe a real debt to them."

Romans 15:26 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

For you see, the believers in Macedonia and Achaia have eagerly taken up an offering for the poor among the believers in Jerusalem.

It's not a huge thing to give in financial blessings to spiritual blessings we have received and these are the examples of Macedonia and Achaia, they have given their contribution of money to Jews of Jerusalem, a noble thing to do. And we know that it's not enough still it's enough during their time to meet the financial needs of the Jewish believers in Jerusalem.

B. We, Gentiles, have shared in Jew's spiritual blessings.

"Since the Gentiles received the spiritual blessings of the Good News from the believers in Jerusalem"

1 Corinthians 9:11 (New International Version)

If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you?

Romans 10:12-13 (New International Version)

For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

There's no excuse if we are either born Jew or Gentile, the excuse is if not to believe or believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST. The salvation is only thru faith and belief in the LORD JESUS CHRIST as LORD and PERSONAL SAVIOR. No one or nothing can replace that. True Salvation can only be found thru LORD JESUS CHRIST. We Gentiles (if you're not an inborn Jew, then you are Gentile) are under GOD's wrath, all people are, but thru the Grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, we have heard the Gospel that can save us.

C. We, Gentiles, owe it to the Jews to share with them our material blessings.

"they feel the least they can do in return is to help them financially"

2 Corinthians 8:9 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.

1 John 3:16 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.

Romans 1:14 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

For I have a great sense of obligation to people in both the civilized world and the rest of the world, to the educated and uneducated alike.

We owe it to the Jews that's why salvation has come to us now, if not for their rejection,we would not have experienced GOD's grace in our lives. Their rejection opened our heart of acceptance to GOD's Salvation, none other than the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

(Romans 11:17 MKJV)

And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and became a sharer of the root and the fatness of the olive tree with them,

IX. CONCLUSION:

Romans 10:12-13 (New International Version)

For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
