Summary: Today, people slog it out to live well – but do they? Answer me. Someone said: ”They who are of the opinion that Money will do everything, may very well be suspected to do everything for Money.”

More fish!

Luke 5:7”So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.”

Good Morning! Jesus demonstrates to the disciples that He is a God of Abundance! Dear friend, there is huge learning for us from this incident! Burnout doesn’t come from working hard, it comes from working hard and not producing results. I am speaking to someone out there! On the day the salary was credited I heard a young Engineer scream over the phone: ”Today I am rich, let me enjoy before my money is swallowed through EMIs.” While working for a multinational bank, the talk that I heard over a million times in the corridor, canteen, car parking area, hall and everywhere was about ‘being broke financially.’ Today, people slog it out to live well – but do they? Answer me. Someone said: ”They who are of the opinion that Money will do everything, may very well be suspected to do everything for Money.”

Many of us suffer lack sometimes because of our own disobedience and carelessness. Jesus specifically looks at Simon and commands him to “launch out into the deep and let down the net for a catch.” Why does Jesus single out Peter and calls him to do the job? So that Simon Peter gets a clearer, bigger, and larger vision of who Jesus is? Though they had toiled all night and caught nothing, yet Simon Peter obeys the word of Jesus. Verse 6 says, ‘when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish and their net were breaking.” That’s the reward we receive for obedience! We must live out our faith. It is not enough to say, "Yes, Lord, I’m sure there are fish somewhere in the lake." Jesus wants us to "launch out." He wants us to put faith into action. Someone out there needs to hear me out today! Jesus wants us to trust Him and obey Him in getting deeper with Him.

Jesus just doesn’t stop here, there was so much of fish that Simon called for help! Another boat was also loaded with fishes and the scripture says that the boats began to sink because of the abundance of fishes. That’s awesome indeed! Guys who caught no fish all night now have much fish. It must have flabbergasted them. Jesus loves to awe us!

The world is operating on a system of ‘debts’ now. Buy now pay later! The financial and banking institutions have understood this avaricious and greedy human nature and are scheming ways and means to trap them into their grasp. Dear friend, there is something called ‘false prosperity’ which the whole world is trapped into. Money swindled by :

a) avoiding tax

b) illegal and corrupt ways. (a Christian said that he has to sign and sanction money which he very well knows is being used for wrong expenses. I told him he is also partaker of the sin)

c) by getting sanction for business related policies from the various offices through bribe.

d) Means of commission/material gifts taken for job done.

There is something called ‘true prosperity’ which comes directly from God, when you follow ALL His commandments (not partly) and when you wait patiently for His timing. Deuteronomy 28:11 says ”The Lord will grant you plenty of goods….”
